In 1795, Abraham Breguet invented the tourbillon. It would only be much later, in 1920, that watchmaker Alfred Helwig would create the flying tourbillon. The flying version distinguishes the Tourbillon Messidor (Ref. 5335): A tourbillon cage mounted on sapphire discs gives the tourbillon an airy architecture that’s matched by the rest of the skeletonised movement. The 40mm watch is shown here in platinum.
