Torque (Singapore) - - CONTENTS -

IVAN TAN  Based on the articles I have read from Torque, be it news stories or car reviews, most of the writings are a bit of the “6am news” with more of the “Larry King news”. From my point of view, it means that the substance of these articles gets more people talking about the past, present and future of the car industry. Since young, I have been interested in motorsports and cars. I look forward to the changes each and every year in the automotive industry.

Last but not least, I have recently gotten my driving licence. I’m qualified as a probationary driver until December 2018. I would like to take this year as an opportunity to learn the role of a motoring journalist – handling different tasks and liaising with the marketing/PR departments of the car showrooms if needed. Could the Torque editorial team add my name to your list of potential job candidates? A copy of my resume is attached.

Torque Thanks for expressing your interest to become a motoring writer with us. However, our editorial engine room is fully occupied by a V12-strong team, made up of three staffers and nine core contributors. So there is no position (or reason) for another writer to join the Torque team, whether part-time or full-time.

In any case, Ivan, if you wish to find out more about Singapore’s motoring media industry, you can contact our editor David Ting ( and arrange for a chat over coffee when you come to our SPH News Centre office to collect your Postbox prize.
