Despite its name, you’ll find more than robatayaki and sake on the menu at Ishinomaki. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, chef-owner Chi Pin Han uses freshly-imported ingredients from Japan to dish out an incredible array of sashimi, sushi and kaiseki items that varies according to the season.

Their Miyagi sashimi platter ($68) comprises eight different types of the season's premium sashimi. Call in advance to reserve a portion but if you miss it, their grilled and sake offerings are quite impressive as well. This izakaya-style restaurant boasts one of the most formidable sake collections in Singapore, with almost 150 unique labels in hand at the moment and counting. Sake cognoscenti should certainly stop by for after-work drinks and bites—the friendly staff will happily recommend suitable pairings to go with your meal.
