ilLIDO AT THE CLIFF

One of the long­stand­ing restau­rants un­der chefrestau­ra­teur Beppe de Vito’s ilLido Group, ilLido at the Cliff serves up mod­ern Ital­ian cui­sine on a scenic hill­top near Sentosa’s Tan­jong Beach. Al fresco din­ing at this restau­rant al­lows one to take full ad­van­tage of ex­pan­sive views of the South China Sea, while in­doors, floor-to-ceil­ing win­dows let in lots of nat­u­ral light, not to men­tion a view of the lush gar­den out­side. Blue vel­vet-cush­ioned seats and wal­nut ac­cents com­plete the re­gal, yet re­laxed vibe.

Head chef Si­mone Fra­ter­nali has helmed the kitchen here since the restau­rant re­lo­cated from Sentosa Golf Club in 2015. One of his iconic dishes is guinea fowl with foie gras and black truf­fle. This dish was in­spired by af­ter­noons spent at his grand­mother’s house af­ter school, and the com­fort­ing guinea fowl casse­role she used to make dur­ing win­ter, served with a side of car­rots and Marsala wine. Says chef Fra­ter­nali, “This dish brings back memories of that time, and re­minds me why I had big dreams to be­come a chef, and to cook au­then­tic Ital­ian cui­sine.”
