CRIMES AND COUNTING
Crime never pays—well, not unless it’s 19 Crimes, the unconventional wine brand that has won over Australia and the US. Admittedly, there’s a fair amount of marketing spiel in the brand story of 18th century British felons guilty of 19 crimes, sentenced to exile, and unwittingly turned colonists and pioneers. But to be fair, the wines are easy on the wallet and quaffable. For a cheap and cheery barbecue tipple, try the 2016 Shiraz with its jammy flavours laced with a hint of vanilla, or the easy-drinking 2015 red blend.
