Food­ies, mark your cal­en­dars. The sev­enth an­nual in­stal­ment of the Mar­garet River Gourmet Es­cape will be back this Novem­ber and will fea­ture over

40 culi­nary stars in­clud­ing renowned au­thor and tele­vi­sion per­son­al­ity Nigella Lawson, and win­ners of The World’s 50 Best Restau­rants awards, Chef’s Ta­ble he­roes and Miche­lin-starred chefs.

Set to take place from 16th to

18th Novem­ber, fans will not want to miss Nigella’s events, such as the iconic Gourmet Beach BBQ (Fri­day, 16 Novem­ber; lunch and din­ner), Nigella’s Tea Party at Howard Park Win­ery (Sun­day,

18 Novem­ber), as well as spe­cial ap­pear­ances and a book sign­ing ses­sion at the Gourmet Vil­lage at Leeuwin Es­tate (Satur­day and Sun­day, 17 and 18 Novem­ber).

From Sin­ga­pore, chef Julien Royer of Odette (ranked 28th this year on The World’s 50 Best Restau­rants list) will be team­ing up with Seth James at Wills Do­main, while Jake Kel­lie of newly minted with a Miche­lin star Burnt Ends will be cooking whole beasts over fire at Feast in The For­est at Leeuwin Es­tate.

Other no­table chefs to check out dur­ing the three-day event in­clude Chef’s

Ta­ble favourite Niki Nakayama, who will be pre­par­ing an in­ti­mate one-off lunch

at Miki’s Open Kitchen. In the mean­time, chef Edgar Nunez from Sud 777 MEX, which ranks 64th on The World’s 50 Best Restau­rants list, will be col­lab­o­rat­ing with Ro­sio Sanchez from world renowned taque­ria Hija de Sanchez in Copen­hagen to serve up a snack party of Mex­i­can del­i­ca­cies us­ing lo­cal pro­duce. James Lowe of London’s beloved Lyle’s and Mat Lind­say of Ester in Syd­ney will also be work­ing to­gether on a spe­cial menu at Lyle’s V’s Ester Din­ner at Larry Cheru­bino Win­ery.

With over 45 events held at more than 25 unique and breath­tak­ing lo­ca­tions, there is bound to be some­thing for ev­ery­one, in­clud­ing ve­g­ans. Yes, you heard us right. Shannon Martinez of cult Melbourne ve­gan out­post Smith & Daugh­ters will be trans­form­ing the restau­rant at Wise Vine­yard into a ve­gan Ital­ian trat­to­ria, where she will serve en­tirely plant-based riffs on fo­cac­cia, meatballs, tiramisu and other red-sauce favourites.

Lastly, don’t miss the Gourmet Vil­lage, held over the week­end of 17 and 18 Novem­ber. Set on the stun­ning grounds of Leeuwin Es­tate Win­ery, vis­i­tors can look for­ward to meet­ing over 120 ar­ti­san food pro­duc­ers, wine­mak­ers and brewers from around Western Aus­tralia, along­side vis­it­ing chefs and wine ex­perts.
