was brought up on a diet of books and fam­ily din­ner par­ties. It’s hard to as­cer­tain which came first, Joyce’s love for words or her in­fat­u­a­tion with food. Luck­ily, a writ­ing ca­reer that started at lo­cal food mag­a­zine meant she didn’t have to choose be­tween ei­ther. Now as a free­lance food, wine and travel writer, she can be found in var­i­ous cor­ners of the world dig­ging into street­side fare, trawl­ing mu­se­ums and prac­tis­ing hand sig­nals with lo­cals.
