Zenith’s special edition for Cohiba

Cuba’s in the news again, with the waiting line to visit the country finally moving along. Very timely then, that Zenith should present a special edition El Primero Chronomaster 1968 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Cohiba, the iconic maker of Cuban cigars. Both are children of the 1960s. Cohiba was created in 1966; the El Primero is the first automatic chronograph movement created in 1969.

The first-ever Cohiba watch, the El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Cohiba Edition in 42mm case is available in 50 pieces in rose gold and 500 pieces in stainless steel. All feature the signature Havana brown dial with Cohiba motifs including vertical striping and a profile of aboriginal chief Taino. On the front, a dial opening at 11 o’clock reveals the oscillations of the fast-beating balance while on the back, the Cosc-certified El Primero movement can be viewed through the sapphire crystal that is engraved with Cohiba’s 50th anniversary logo. The El Primero Chronomaster 1969 Cohiba Edition comes in an exclusive wooden box in matching Cohiba colours.
