Glashütte Original releases boutique editions of Senator Perpetual Calendar and Senator Panorama Date Moon Phase

Boutiques are wonderful vehicles that allow a brand to doctor the retail experience down to the millimetre of its idealised imagination. It is the best way to showcase its watches, in the best environment, with in-house trained staff that communicate only what is in line with its own policy and strategy. If that were not enough, yet more persuasion to visit a boutique comes from boutiqueexclusive editions that cannot be procured elsewhere.

Glashütte Original recently added two watches to its burgeoning boutique collection – exclusively blue-dialled variants of the Senator Perpetual Calendar and Senator Panorama Date Moon Phase. The textured blue dial that both watches share is in perfect harmony with the polished steel cases, adding a dash of dynamism to the classical elements borne by the hands and railroad track minutes scale and Roman numerals, while offering a middle path temperament between the black or silver dials of their siblings in the regular range.

The Senator Panorama Date Moon Phase is arguably among the most elegant of moon phase watches, handsomely and clearly laid out, with a self-winding movement that offers a generous 55hour power reserve, and the large date display is very easy on the eyes, to say the least. Even better is the pusher set flush with the case, that resets the seconds hand to zero, allowing for very precise time setting.

The even more practical option would be the Senator Perpetual Calendar, alongside which many perpetual calendars sporting gold cases, silvered dials, and myriad numbered displays can end up looking a little busy and even staid. The calendar requires no adjustment till the year 2100, and all calendar information can be read logically in a single sweep across the dial, with a neat leap year indicator under “12”.

Both watches are available exclusively at Glashütte Original boutiques in Dresden, Paris, Geneva, Madrid, Dubai, Singapore, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Macau, and Tokyo. SENATOR PANORAMA DATE MOON PHASE MOVEMENT Self-winding Calibre 100-04 with 55-hour power reserve
