South African athlete Wayde van Niekerk has had an exceptional year. At the start of the year, he competed in the 100m dash at Bloemfontein with a time of 9.98 seconds. This makes him the first sprinter to hold a personal best under 10 seconds in the 100m, 20 seconds in the 200m and 44 seconds in the 400m. In June, he set a new record for the African continent and the world’s third-best time in the 300m dash. He also became the African champion in the 4x100m relay with a time of 38.84 seconds. On Aug 14, he crossed the finish line in 43.03 seconds in the 400m sprint, breaking the Michael Johnson's 1999 world record. Only 24 years old, the track star has just begun making history and has chosen to wear an RM 27-02 for its comfort, technical sophistication and dynamic lines.
