In 2000, Jacques Helleu created an inimitable watch that has become as timeless to watch lovers as the No. 5 is to the world of perfume. The J12 sees new iterations this year with a 19mm dial. Called J12.XS, its name is a play on the initials for “extra small” and the sound of the word “excess”. And to accessorise its winning accessory, Chanel has collaborated with couture embroiderer Lesage and leather-glove atelier Maison Causse to produce a black-and-white slim patent leather calfskin strap, a matt calfskin cuff with silver piping, and black lambskin fingerless gloves. A particularly stunning pairing with the J12.XS are hand-embroidered cuffs adorned with sequins and glass beads to simulate the appearance of python, alligator and shagreen leather.
