About L’Occitane en Provence
Set up in 1976, L'Occitane en Provence is known for its products for the face, body and home that contain natural ingredients, such as almond, immortelle, lavender and verbena.
Founder Olivier Baussan bought a traditional steam distiller at age 23 to produce rosemary and lavender essential oils. He then revived the traditional art of Marseille soap-making using an old factory donated to him, and L’Occitane was soon born.
Baussan, whose aim was to create a company that celebrates and preserves the traditions of his native Provence, has fulfilled his dream. Today, all of L’Occitane’s products are developed and produced from its base in Manosque and the company has about 1,500 retail outlets worldwide.
L’Occitane en Provence uses natural active ingredients and traditional therapies to rejuvenate both mind and body.
