PADBOK THAI

-

BEST FOR A taste of Bangkok. FOOD The menu is enormous and offers pretty dim sum and myriad sushi choices to get you started. The tom yum soup is deeply fragrant and spicy, with prominent flavours of lemongrass, lime and chilli. The green papaya salad is served with finely julienned, crunchy green papaya, steamed prawns, garlic, chilli, roasted peanuts and finished off with a hit of fresh lime juice. Try the Panang curry of bean curd and mushrooms in a creamy red coconut curry. For meat lovers, the 'Weeping Tiger' is outstanding, with an almost-200g grilled rump steak sliced and served to your preference with a fiery chilli sauce. End with a delectable pandan crêpe. DRINKS A small range of Asian beers, wines, sake and cocktails. SERVICE Staff could do with some more training. AMBIENCE A vast and formally furnished restaurant. (KM)
