BEST FOR Authentic cooking in a quaint space. FOOD The cook, affectionately known as Mama Fedra, prepares all the food with a wonderful team. The halloumi mezze is absolutely mouthwatering and the beef keftedes are succulent and tasty; a good addition to a customised platter. Some of the best gyros in Pretoria can be enjoyed here, with a generous filling of marinated grilled beef or chicken strips served with a salsa of tomatoes, cucumber, onion, fresh parsley, cabbage and homemade tzatziki packed tightly in a wrap. Their traditional desserts are quite sweet and mostly contain nuts, but the halva ice cream is terrifically smooth and flavourful. DRINKS Go for the Loux Cyprian lemonade, which is delicious and refreshing. SERVICE The staff is as hospitable and pleasant as the owner.
