BEST FOR An outing with family and friends. FOOD It’s a genuine mixed bag, which encourages diners to share. For starters, the choices range from chicken livers, garlic mussels and snails, to chicken giblets, calamari and chorizo. Or simply opt for one of the platters with a taste of everything. For mains, meat and fish are the big items, with a selection from sardines to bacalhau, hake and prawns (marvellous­ly prepared), or the tender, tasty chicken espetada. There’s also pork spare ribs, which are always a winner, and come sticky and sweet. And then you haven’t even glanced at the pizza or pasta selections. Adventure isn’t the name of the game, but quality and consistenc­y are. DRINKS It’s pretty much the usual suspects, with some fun cocktails. SERVICE Everyone is treated with charm and swift service. AMBIENCE It’s a charming space. Small game animals wander around the estate and there’s a lovely view from the clubhouse deck. (DdB)
