N Korea ‘threat’ Re­solve cri­sis

BEI­JING: There is a grow­ing ur­gency for China to in­crease pres­sure on North Korea, and the US has the re­solve to use the full range of mil­i­tary ca­pa­bil­i­ties to de­fend it­self and its al­lies, a US top gen­eral said on a China visit. North Korea’s weapons pro­grammes threaten the en­tire in­ter­na­tional com­mu­nity, in­clud­ing China, chair­per­son of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Joseph Dun­ford told a se­nior Chi­nese of­fi­cer on Tues­day. MOSCOW: Rus­sian for­eign min­is­ter Sergei Lavrov stressed the need to re­solve Venezuela’s cri­sis peace­fully. “We are united in the need to rapidly overcome the dis­agree­ments that ex­ist in that coun­try ex­clu­sively in a peace­ful man­ner, through na­tional di­a­logue with­out any kind of pres­sure from the out­side, with­out speak­ing of the un­ac­cept­able threats of mil­i­tary in­ter­fer­ence,” Lavrov said. – Reuters
