TP Mazembe right on track to re­tain Con­fed Cup crown

THE Caf Con­fed­er­a­tion Cup semi-fi­nal line-up is a mix of the old and the new led by ti­tle­hold­ers TP Mazembe of the Demo­cratic Repub­lic of Congo.

Mazembe were run­ners-up in 2013 be­fore win­ning the sec­ondtier African club com­pe­ti­tion for the first time last year by trounc­ing Mouloudia Be­jaia of Al­ge­ria.

Semi-fi­nal op­po­nents FUS Ra­bat of Morocco were sur­prise win­ners of the 2010 Con­fed­er­a­tion Cup and lost on away goals to Be­jaia in the semi­fi­nals last sea­son.

Club Africain of Tu­nisia fin­ished run­ners-up in 2011, the third time they were Caf fi­nal losers, while SuperSport United of South Africa did not get fur­ther than the play-offs un­til this year.
