JMPD crushes 43 vehicles
THE Johannesburg metropolitan police department (JMPD) crushed 43 vehicles that were involved in accidents and impounded for safekeeping and others were found abandoned on public roads and pavements in Johannesburg.
“The abandoned vehicle owners were given seven days notice, before they were towed by the JMPD to the city pound. The vehicles which were unclaimed after a period of six months and for which a pound fee of R2815 was not paid had become municipal property,” JMPD spokesperson chief superintendent Wayne Minnaar said.
He said 150 vehicles which had been unclaimed to date.
