THE National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) has encouraged South Africans to relax their dress codes at work or in school on the first Friday of September.

Casual Day is one of the initiatives of the NCPD) and it has grown into the most popular and prominent social advocacy and funding campaign in the country.

“Disability is the result of the failure of spaces and products to include persons with disabilities. The NCPD builds strategies to reorganise society to prevent these failures,” the council said.

“Universal design and access is our guiding philosophy to establish standard design requirements in public areas and workspaces.”
