When it comes to long, bumpy days in the saddle, ain’t nobody got time for bikes that don’t have jammy rear suspension to dampen out rough terrain. Full- sus, for sure.
Wait. Actually, a full- sus requires more maintenance (which means more moolah), and a hardtail is lighter. I’ll take the hardtail.
But… long, bumpy days in the saddle? Okay, okay, full- sus. Still… if I use the hardtail as my workhorse – my night watchman, to protect the more valuable player – it will save my full- sus from everyday wear and tear. The hardtail will pay for itself – it’s a no- brainer! One of each, please.
