The Thing That Makes A Great Cycling Pic
WOW Rides photographer Desmond Louw, on the art of capturing a perfect cycling moment.
I could write a whole book about taking a good cycling shot; but at the end of the day, it’s all about the emotion the picture stirs when you look at it. The most important thing about any picture is the story it tells. Who you were with, where it was taken, what you were doing: these are all the things that bring back memories, turning it from a still into a moving picture. The one I chose here is of my friend Nils Hansen, riding up to the Blockhouse on Table Mountain. It’s a ride I remember well, and one we both enjoyed very much on the day.
