The process by which your mus­cles use the pro­tein you eat to re­pair and re­build. They can only use so much pro­tein at one time, how­ever, so tim­ing is key, says ex­er­cise sci­en­tist Stacy Sims. Aim for four to six serv­ings of 20 grams of pro­tein through­out the day, with ex­tra af­ter a work­out.
