Wedding centerpiece Inspiration

Brides Essence - - Contents - By Lorraine Hirst

Table centrepieces are an important consideration when planning your wedding flowers. They add beauty, drama or whimsy (depending on your theme) to a wedding table and are a critical part of the wedding décor.

When designing the centrepieces for your wedding, it’s important to keep the tone and style of your wedding in mind – as well as the time of year in order to tie everything together seamlessly. Obviously an elegant occasion calls for an elegant centrepiece design, while a casual wedding calls for something less formal and structured.

Always try to choose flowers that are in season and “local”, as this will ensure that when you order, your flowers are readily available. Also choose flowers that complement your other décor. Brief your florist well and they will help you select the perfect seasonal flowers for statement centerpieces.

There is no harm in searching the internet for ideas and inspiration but try not to throw the net too wide – there is nothing more frustrating than finding a lovely centerpiece and realising that the flowers you love are not available or are prohibitively expensive to import.
