Cel­e­brate deca­dence in Dur­banville with the all-new fab­u­lously in­dul­gent Cel­lar­bake@Ni­tida wine pair­ing fes­ti­val on Sun­day 23 March 2014 from 11am to 7pm.

The multi-award win­ning fam­ily owned (and run) Ni­tida Farm, sis­ter farm Môre­son (Fran­schhoek) and Cas­sia Restau­rant will be host­ing the Western Cape’s best ar­ti­sanal bak­ers such as Queen of Tarts and Whim­si­cal Cup­cakes, show­cas­ing their finest dishes paired per­fectly with Ni­tida and Môre­son wines.

Culi­nary con­nois­seur and of­fi­cial Wine Con­sul­tant to Cel­lar­bake@Ni­tida, Michael Olivier, will be work­ing closely with each of the bak­ers, work-shop­ping and build­ing to­wards the pre­mium pair­ings that guests may en­joy on the day.

This event of­fers visi­tors a chance to sam­ple a va­ri­ety of five food and wine pair­ings with a take-home Cel­lar­bake@Ni­tida wine glass, live mu­sic, fan­tas­tic Kid’s Kitchen be­ing run by Julie’s Cake Stu­dio and am­ple in­no­va­tive,

cre­ative and in­ter­est­ing ac­tiv­i­ties for the whole fam­ily! Ad­di­tional cakes, desserts, con­fec­tionar­ies, wines and other bakethemed good­ies will be avail­able for pur­chase at the venue.

“I’m hugely ex­cited to be di­rect­ing this ex­cit­ing, be­spoke food and wine event tak­ing place in the gor­geous Dur­banville val­ley. Bak­ing isn’t just a hot trend, it’s be­com­ing a cult and we need to align our­selves with global food trends and keep push­ing our culi­nary bound­aries. Cel­lar­bake@Ni­tida will be do­ing just that!” Says well known South African foodie and event Di­rec­tor, Tam­sin Sny­man. Cas­sia Restau­rant will be of­fer­ing pic­nic bas­kets as well as a high-tea ex­pe­ri­ence com­menc­ing at 11am and 3pm see the end of the ar­ti­cle for con­tact de­tails.

Tick­ets are avail­able through Webtick­ets at a cost of R100 per per­son. Free en­try for all un­der 12 years, R50 en­try for 12 – 18 years, which in­cludes five food tast­ings (no al­co­hol in­cluded).
