LOCATED close to the Langebaan Lagoon and the well-known West Coast National Park, Langebaan Country Estate is an easy hour’s drive from Cape Town. Maurice and Domonick Lodewick, brokers/owners of RE/MAX Lifestyle Estates Langebaan, say that this 450ha estate is located in a truly unbeatable location in the heart of the West Coast.

“Due to the unparalleled value offered here, we find that more than 50% of our total sales are within the Langebaan Country Estate. In general, buyers are looking for a secure holiday or permanent homes and prefer a newly built home in a secure and well maintained environment that has access to a wide variety of world class facilities,” they say. “Essentially, they are buying into the lifestyle and security that the estate is offering. Even though the estate is still quite new, the growth we have seen has been truly phenomenal on completed homes.”

Facilities on the Langebaan Country Estate are plentiful and cater to a wide variety of needs. The pièce de résistance is, of course, the Gary Player Black Knight-designed 18-hole signature golf course. It has well-positioned bunkers and his typical routing for all levels of golfers. Throw in some amazing natural rock formations, the large water feature separating the 10th and 18th fairways, and the natural wild flowers, birdlife and a variety of buck species, and you have one of the top golf courses in the Western Cape.

Over and above the abundant natural fauna and flora and the golf course, the Lodewicks say that there are lots of other facilities to cater for every need, including bowls, a driving range, chipping greens, putting greens, a 9-hole mashie course, tennis courts, a kids’ playroom and jungle gym, a pro putt course, 12km jogging and cycling tracks, club houses, bicycle rentals, a restaurant, a ladies bar, conference facilities, accommodation, a pro shop, a driving range, a swimming pool and a health spa.

The estate is well known for its low-density housing plan, which is clearly evident in the vast open public areas that characterise the estate. Of course, the security is in line with the best that is currently on offer. “The estate is guarded and secured by A-grade ADT security, 24-7 offering residents peace of mind whether they live permanently on the estate or only visit for holidays. This is an ideal solution for investors looking for a lock-up-and-go holiday home.”

The asking prices for homes start from R800 000, this for twoto three-bedroom apartments, while two-to three-bedroom duplex town homes start at R1,1m, three-bedroom cluster free-standing homes start at R1,095m, while three-bedroom free-standing homes located on the fairways start at around R1,6m.

RE/MAX Lifestyle Estates is currently marketing new, 175m² three-bedroom, two-bathroom homes overlooking the 8th fairway priced at R1,299m. The home has exceptional finishes, as well as a well proportioned open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchen area, an enclosed patio with a built-in braai, a double garage and a separate outdoor courtyard.

The property is being sold on a plot-and-plan basis and clients are able to view the show house to get an idea of what the finished product will look like. Investors can buy directly from the developers, thus saving on transfer costs.

The Lodewicks note that there are already 300 homes built on the estate. Free-standing fairway stands vary from 650m² to 1 300m², the apartments measure 114m² and the free-standing homes range from 175m² up to and exceeding 500m².

Adrian Goslett, CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa, says: “Because properties on the Langebaan Country Estate appeal to a wide variety of potential buyers, from Cape Town-based families looking for a holiday getaway, or one that wants to move to the West Coast permanently, a buy-tolet investor, or a holiday home for a foreign investor — this estate has all the lifestyle and retail trappings, balanced with a healthy dose of natural scenery and wildlife, to make it a prime investment choice.”

The estate is located close to Saldanha, identified as a growth hotspot in the area with regards to the potential development surrounding iron ore mines, gas harvesting and wind farms. Contact: RE/MAX Lifestyle Estates – Langebaan 022 772 0752
