Sea and mountain as your back yard

Business Day - Home Front - - HOMEFRONT -

DESIGNED by Dennis Fabian Berman, one of the Waterfront’s signature architects, Canal Quays faces north to the Cape Town harbour and Atlantic Ocean, while the south façade faces Table Mountain.

In total, there are 72 luxury studio, one-, two-and threebedroom penthouse apartments accommodated in this nine-storey development.

There are some specialised units — four are duplex penthouse apartments with pools and terraces, with a single simplex penthouse available.

Sizes cover a wide range, from 65m² plus an 11m² balcony up to a massive 378m² penthouse including a terrace. One, two or three parking bays are included, as is a storeroom.

Making use of natural light and natural ventilation, protection from noise is provided by soundreducing glazing to the windows.

All of the apartments’ main bedroom and living areas have airconditioning. There is also provision for wired satellite TV and internet connectivity.

Kelly Harris, Seeff apartment sales agent for Cape Town CBD, was so taken with Canal Quays, a luxurious development on the Roggebaai Canal between the Cape Town International Convention Centre and the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, that she has chosen to live there herself and is the company’s on-site agent.

Harris says: “There is no denying that Canal Quays’ residents have an enviable back yard, and being able to travel by water taxi to the V&A Waterfront is a most enjoyable bonus.”

The last units available in Canal Quays have been released for sale by Zwelinzima Property Developers and Project Managers.

“There are five penthouses and seven apartments available. Prices range from R2,45m for the apartments and R13m for the penthouses, with no transfer duty payable,” says Harris.

Ian Slot, MD of Seeff CBD, City Bowl, Atlantic Seaboard and V&A Waterfront, says: “Canal Quays offers the luxury of marina living combined with an urban connectivity to be envied.

“Adding to this is the themed interior design and impeccable attention to detail, along with the fact that Canal Quays is not only close to Cape Town's top attractions but a must-see in its own right.

“As well as a well-nigh unbeatable setting with magnificent harbour and mountain views, Canal Quays also offers a private residents’ pool, sundeck and lounge, concierge and secure basement parking.”

The entire development is protected by access control at all entrances and 24-hour manned CCTV security. An integrated intercom system and alarms are included.

Covered parking is provided, as well as a car-wash bay.

Slot and Harris are utilising an unusual property marketing approach for these units.

Slot says: “We are able to give potential buyers an immediate personalised property tour by way of a video on the website.

“Hence, instead of having to wait they literally only have to visit and click play to get a real sense of what Canal Quays can offer, in a topflight video, at their leisure.

“They are piloted through this by Kelly, so a personalised property tour of this superb development is now literally only a click away.” Price: Apartments from R2,45m Penthouses from R13m Contact: Seeff Properties Kelly Harris on 082 733 6259
