DE­SIGNED by Den­nis Fabian Ber­man, one of the Water­front’s sig­na­ture ar­chi­tects, Canal Quays faces north to the Cape Town har­bour and At­lantic Ocean, while the south façade faces Ta­ble Moun­tain.

In to­tal, there are 72 lux­ury stu­dio, one-, two-and three­bed­room pent­house apart­ments ac­com­mo­dated in this nine-storey de­vel­op­ment.

There are some spe­cialised units — four are du­plex pent­house apart­ments with pools and ter­races, with a sin­gle sim­plex pent­house avail­able.

Sizes cover a wide range, from 65m² plus an 11m² bal­cony up to a mas­sive 378m² pent­house in­clud­ing a ter­race. One, two or three park­ing bays are in­cluded, as is a store­room.

Mak­ing use of nat­u­ral light and nat­u­ral ven­ti­la­tion, pro­tec­tion from noise is pro­vided by soundreduc­ing glaz­ing to the win­dows.

All of the apart­ments’ main bed­room and liv­ing ar­eas have air­con­di­tion­ing. There is also pro­vi­sion for wired satel­lite TV and in­ter­net con­nec­tiv­ity.

Kelly Har­ris, Se­eff apart­ment sales agent for Cape Town CBD, was so taken with Canal Quays, a lux­u­ri­ous de­vel­op­ment on the Rogge­baai Canal be­tween the Cape Town In­ter­na­tional Con­ven­tion Cen­tre and the Vic­to­ria and Al­fred Water­front, that she has cho­sen to live there her­self and is the com­pany’s on-site agent.

The last units avail­able in Canal Quays have been re­leased for sale by Zwelinz­ima Prop­erty De­vel­op­ers and Pro­ject Man­agers.

“There are five pent­houses and seven apart­ments avail­able. Prices range from R2,45m for the apart­ments and R13m for the pent­houses, with no trans­fer duty payable,” says Har­ris.

Slot and Har­ris are util­is­ing an un­usual prop­erty mar­ket­ing ap­proach for these units.
