LOCATED on the slopes of Lions Head, overlooking the rocky coastline between Sea Point and Clifton, lies the Cape Town suburb of Bantry Bay.

Situated close to the Cape Town CBD, V&A Waterfront, the convention centre and the Table Mountain cableway, Bantry Bay is known to be the most wind-free area in Cape Town.

This area is one of the most sought-after real estate locations in the city due to its trendy, upmarket appeal. Statistics sourced from property data provider, Lightstone, indicate that 74% of Bantry Bay property is sectional title, with 36,47% of recent buyers aged between 36 and 49 years. During the past 12 months, Lightstone figures show that 16 sectional-title properties have been sold for an average price of R8,258m.

A new, luxurious residential development is sure to escalate these figures, as the suburb of Bantry Bay will shortly be home to 276 Ocean View Drive, a new development consisting of two luxurious villa units.

“Located on the ocean side of the road, the units will offer great sea and city views in one of the best locations in SA,” says Seeff Atlantic Seaboard agent, Lance Cohen. The contemporary design of the villas has been undertaken by M2K architects and each unit will offer 500m2 of floor space with ultra-luxurious finishes.

The development is the brainchild of interior designers, Marius van der Merwe and Chris Steyn of M-interiors, who count among their accomplishments the inte- riors of the One & Only penthouses. The cutting edge design emphasises understated luxury, comfort, privacy and maximised views, according to the developers. Large glass windows and sliding doors ensure unobstructed views while top quality, yet minimalist finishes will allow owners the freedom to decorate at will and add colour.

The development consists of a lower and an upper unit, situated slightly towards the back to enhance privacy. Both units will have direct lift access from the street-level garage block that provides two garages per unit. The staircases and elevator block will feature a shuttered concrete finish while the large elevator has a glass wall that offers views of the ocean beyond as it ascends.

The three spacious bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and the living areas flow onto a deck with sea views, a rim-flow swimming pool and landscaped garden.

Finishes include plush carpeting for the bedrooms, white marble floor tiles and acid wash deck floors. Additional features include underfloor heating and air-conditioning throughout, Gira switches and intercoms, heated towel rails, motorised blinds and curtains and state-of-the-art security.

“This is one of the most exciting new developments on offer in the suburb that provides for luxurious living,” says Cohen. Price: Between R18m and R22m plus VAT Contact: Seeff Properties Lance Cohen 082 416 6103
