Cape Town manufacturing tops

Cape Town leads the country in income produced by the manufacturing sector. A manufacturing industry report released by Statistics SA shows the total income for the manufacturing industry increased 9.4% per annum‚ from R1.68-trillion in 2011 to R2.20-trillion in 2014. Cape Town contributed R366.2bn (17.3%), higher than Johannesburg’s R342bn (16.2%) and Ekurhuleni’s R268.8bn (12.7%).
