Seven die in building collapse
NAIROBI: At least seven people were killed on Wednesday when a four-storey building under construction collapsed in Western Kenya, officials said.
Pius Masai Mwachi, National Disaster Management Unit deputy director, said 22 people had been hospitalised.
“A male adult is still missing. Emergency rescue operations have been called off,” he said.
Mwachi said the bodies had been pulled out of the rubble at Membe in the town of Kisii. He said rescue operations were being hampered by heavy rains pounding the area. – Xinhua
