The Cape Winelands Film Fes­ti­val (CWFF) has sig­nif­i­cantly grown in size and in­ter­na­tional par­tic­i­pa­tion, evolv­ing into what is now known as the Cape Town In­ter­na­tional Film Mar­ket and Fes­ti­val. Tak­ing place at the V&A Water­front, the fes­ti­val will show­case movies from across the world, with films from over 50 coun­tries be­ing fea­tured in com­pe­ti­tion.


The eighth in­stal­ment of the Knysna Lit­er­ary Fes­ti­val is a favourite with book­worms and lovers of all things lit­er­ary. You can rub shoul­ders with lit­er­ary giants and par­tic­i­pate in work­shops. It takes place at the Montes­sori Am­phithe­atre in Knysna and tick­ets cost R200.

OC­TO­BER 28-29

Em­brace your “Right to Fly” at the 23rd Cape Town In­ter­na­tional Kite Fes­ti­val in Muizen­berg. There’s free kite-mak­ing work­shops for chil­dren and adults, live en­ter­tain­ment, rides, a chil­dren’s play area and food mar­ket. Vis­i­tors are wel­come to bring along a pic­nic. Tick­ets at the gate or Quicket, R40 p/p (R15 for chil­dren 12 years and un­der).
