Thirty-four die in train crash

KIN­SHASA: The death toll in the train crash in the Demo­cratic Repub­lic of Congo’s south-east prov­ince of Lual­aba, which killed 34 peo­ple and in­jured at least 26 oth­ers on Sun­day, is ex­pected to rise, a Con­golese gov­ern­ment of­fi­cial has warned, ac­cord­ing to AP.

It re­ported that 11 of the 13 train cars were on fire and had con­tin­ued to burn af­ter the train car­ry­ing fuel plunged into a ravine. The cause of the de­rail­ing is un­known.
