Talking about her character’s impeccable style, Stiles said there was a definite aim to show that fashion for Georgina was very different to other characters, like Constantine’s first wife, Irina Clios, played by Lena Olin.
“In the show, Irina shows off her wealth in how she dresses, whereas Georgina – because she comes from the art world – has an eclectic collection from around the world and uses it to express her individuality,” she said.
The thrilling show also sees actors such as Iwan Rheon, Roxane Duran, Dimitri Leonidas, Adrian Lester, Phil Davis, Amr Waked and Igal Naor star alongside Stiles – a cast that was very new to her. “They’re all so talented. It was a delight working with Lena Olin in particular. She’s such a formidable woman,” she said.
Despite playing an art lover on the show, Stiles says that, in reality, she’s more of a sentimental piece collector.
“I really like pieces that have sentimental value to me. For instance, I have a piece of graffiti art that I got from the last Jason Bourne movie. I like things like that, that provoke memories or are inspiring,” she said. Catch Julia Styles on Riviera on BBC First every Sunday at 8pm.
