Check out home-town boy Saaiman

AS IF you needed any more reason to go and see The Daily Music Show, which features local music and visual artists, heritage storytelli­ng and delicious food.

Home-grown musician, style icon, and businessma­n Chad Saaiman will be performing at the weekly show this evening between 7pm and 9pm.

Saaiman has been recording and performing for more than a decade and has become a household name in South Africa.

He has had successful campaigns with brands such as Telkom (Never Miss a Beat/ Summer Of Wow), Edgars, Castle Milk Stout Unplugged and recently has been one of the faces of Canal Walk.

He has also performed alongside internatio­nal stars Brian McKnight, Tevin Campbell, Phil Fearon and local acts such as Mi Casa, Reason, Jimmy Nevis and Matthew Mole.

Saaiman has previously graced the pages of leading magazine titles from True Love to Marie Claire, been named one of SA’s best dressed men by GQ, and made it onto Destiny Man’s list of SA’s most remarkable men under 40.

His long-standing career has led him to performing and appearing on several TV shows such as Afternoon Express, The Mancave, Hectic Nine-9, Expresso and M-Net Idols SA.

After spending four years growing his craft and brand in Johannesbu­rg until 2016, Chad returned to home to Cape Town.

Taking over the running of his co-owned music company, Stereotype Talent Management, he also released a chart-topping homecoming single in 2017, titled Nights.

The R&B/pop offering got immediate playlistin­g around the country and debuted on Stephanie B’s New Music Nation on 5FM and went on to hit No 1 on Goodhope FM, Heart FM and a few more stations, with the music video still on rotation on Trace Africa and Channel O.

He then released an EP last year called Future Forever, featuring another hit single Belief and a top-notch music video, which was succeeded by his latest banger Play, which features Cape Town’s most influentia­l rapper right now, YoungstaCP­T. Play has gained nationwide recognitio­n on radio, and received 25 000 views within the first week.
