Pilot killed in plane crash
THE South African Civil Aviation Authority has launched an investigation into a plane crash in which a pilot was killed yesterday.
The man, in his twenties, was killed when the light aircraft crashed in the Keer-boskloof area in De Doorns. Paramedics said the aircraft had flown between mountains in the area and a loud bang was heard.
ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing Harduth said: “Personnel found the aircraft and it had caught alight during the incident.”
