Electoral fraud arrest
ABUJA: A serving Independent National Electoral Commission official has been remanded in custody for allegedly taking bribes from a now-disgraced former minister to manipulate the 2015 Nigeria general elections.
Fidelia Omoile, an official at the Delta State branch, is among more than 100 election officers alleged to have received $115 million disbursed in 2015 by then-minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke.
The People’s Democratic Party of Allison-Madueke lost to the All Progressives Congress of current President Muhammadu Buhari.
