Building delays irk

- Claremont resident

WITH regards to the southern suburbs division referenced in the letters, (June 12), I could not agree more!

I have had plans submitted for over a year and all I want is to add a granny flatlet within the building regulations with regards to footprint so as to not contravene anything nor asking any special departures!

I have experienced delay after delay as plans are lost and irrelevant heritage scrutiny fees etc are asked for.

I am trying to build on to accommodate my elderly parents and as it stands now one of them is sickly and may never enjoy the planned flatlet.

I only hope it is approved soon so the remaining parent can be cared for. It is so utterly frustrating.

I see lots of new developments going up which seem to flout all regulations that I have been asked to adhere to.

What’s with that?! Something needs to be done.
