Toyota’s Etios range has grown with the addition of a Sprint derivative (which replaces the midlevel Xs model). The Etios Sprint features the following changes on both hatchback and sedan models: a completely revamped front bumper design; large lower air dam with integrated foglamp bezels complemented by a tapered front grille; reworked rear bumper; and a lower crease line accentuating the profile. Twin-spoke 15-inch alloy wheels round off the package.

Inside, Toyota promises improved perceived quality and NVH performance. While pricing is unconfirmed, we’ve been told the increase over the Xs will be minimal.

Power for the new model is derived from the same 1,5-litre four-cylinder petrol powerplant. The naturally aspirated motor produces 66 kw and 132 N.m of torque, delivered to the front wheels. The entry-level Xi and Cross derivatives round out the Etios range.
