INTERESTING FACTS

Car (South Africa) - - BUY -

In our 1964 road test, the testers managed to shave a full second off the 0-100 km/h time by placing the lever in low range. This prevented the gearbox from shifting to second at about 80 km/h. Similarly, for the quarter-mile sprint, they manually shifted to high range at 100 km/h when the engine speed was 4 500 r/min. We still try manual shifting these days, but very seldom manage to beat the computer settings.
