DEATH OF ICE?

Car (South Africa) - - TECH -

The automotive landscape is changing and the internalcombustion engine (ICE) is under threat. France has announced that the sale of any vehicle equipped with an ICE will be banned from 2040, despite hybrids accounting for total sales of only 3,5% and EV for just 1,5% in the European country. In the same vein, Volvo has announced that all its vehicles launched by 2019 will feature an electric motor (in a hybrid or pure electric application). If this trend catches on quickly, most new cars sold in 10 years will be electrified.
