Me­dia24 boosts BEE score­card

Me­dia24, the owner of City Press, has in­creased its Broad-Based Black Eco­nomic Em­pow­er­ment score­card from a level 4 to a level 3 con­trib­u­tor.

The im­proved 2014 score­card fol­lowed an ex­ter­nal au­dit.

Chief ex­ec­u­tive Es­maré Wei­de­man said: “We are very proud of this achieve­ment as we take trans­for­ma­tion very se­ri­ously.

“Our in­crease in score over the years is ev­i­dence of this com­mit­ment and we are de­lighted with the re­sults.”

Me­dia24’s over­all score has in­creased by 7.88 points to 77.98 – which takes the com­pany to a level 3 sta­tus and a to­tal pro­cure­ment recog­ni­tion level of 137.5%.

Me­dia24’s head of cor­po­rate af­fairs, Neo Mo­modu, said the com­pany’s BEE poli­cies and strate­gies en­sured that mea­sur­able progress was made to­wards gen­uine em­pow­er­ment.

“We are fully com­mit­ted to trans­for­ma­tion and have changed the way we do busi­ness to make this a re­al­ity,” she said.
