Media24 boosts BEE scorecard
Media24, the owner of City Press, has increased its Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment scorecard from a level 4 to a level 3 contributor.
The improved 2014 scorecard followed an external audit.
Chief executive Esmaré Weideman said: “We are very proud of this achievement as we take transformation very seriously.
“Our increase in score over the years is evidence of this commitment and we are delighted with the results.”
Media24’s overall score has increased by 7.88 points to 77.98 – which takes the company to a level 3 status and a total procurement recognition level of 137.5%.
Media24’s head of corporate affairs, Neo Momodu, said the company’s BEE policies and strategies ensured that measurable progress was made towards genuine empowerment.
“We are fully committed to transformation and have changed the way we do business to make this a reality,” she said.
