By the power of science, and possibly magic, a 25-year-old US astrobiology student has created
uBeam – a device that allows you to wirelessly charge your phone. It uses ultrasound to send electricity to your device through the air, a receiver then catches the sound and converts it back into electricity. This means your phone is free of cables and you can move around while it charges. Welcome to the future!
While a working prototype has been created of the uBeam, the project is now in its funding phase and it may be a few years before we see it on the shelves. We wish they would hurry up already. –
