Burundi postpones polls
Burundi’s government has postponed parliamentary and presidential elections that were due this month.
Burundi has been hit by deadly protests and a failed coup since President Pierre Nkurunziza announced his bid for a third term in April. He has been under pressure from African and Western governments to delay elections. Burundi’s foreign minister Alain Nyamitwe told the BBC elections would be held by August 26 when the constitutional limit of the government ended.
