CHIL­DREN’S LIT­ER­A­TURE PRIZE FOR SA

South African-based Project for the Study of Al­ter­na­tive Ed­u­ca­tion in SA (Praesa) was awarded this year’s Lind­gren Me­mo­rial Prize, widely re­garded as the largest chil­dren’s lit­er­a­ture prize on the planet.

Af­fil­i­ated with the Uni­ver­sity of Cape Town, Praesa is con­cerned with the im­prove­ment and devel­op­ment of ed­u­ca­tion, through en­gage­ment with dif­fer­ent teach­ing meth­ods, mul­ti­lin­gual­ism and fa­cil­i­tat­ing new, use­ful lit­er­a­ture for South African pupils.
