One-night stands are ex­cit­ing be­cause of the po­ten­tial dan­ger and mys­tery. The nos­trings-at­tached ben­e­fit is ap­peal­ing to many. Some­times one wants the phys­i­cal grat­i­fi­ca­tion with­out the work that comes with a com­mit­ted re­la­tion­ship.

How­ever, with all the pos­si­ble fun comes some re­spon­si­bil­ity to en­sure a good and safe time for all in­volved. Here are a few guide­lines:

Gen­i­tal hy­giene and clean­li­ness are non-ne­go­tiable. Freshen up be­fore if it’s been a long day. Your un­der­wear should not be granny panties. Pick some­thing sexy, rel­a­tively new and, most im­por­tantly, clean.

Be safe. Let a friend know where you are at all times. With tech­nol­ogy, you can eas­ily send your lo­ca­tion to a friend if you’re not at your place.

Con­doms are an­other non­nego­tiable. Re­gard­less of whether you’re male or fe­male, al­ways carry con­doms. Women who carry con­doms are not sluts. They are smart and prac­ti­cal. The brand name mat­ters only to a few. (It mat­ters to me. La­tex-free shows a bit of ex­tra ef­fort.)
