onke Gender Justice and its partners recently launched a report on the status of fathers in the world. It focuses on the role of fathers in the lives of their partners, children and the communities in which they live. One of the areas the report focuses on is reproductive health and the role we as men and fathers can, should and must play to ensure that matters relating to reproductive health are not regarded as solely an issue for women.
Rather, we should play a direct and meaningful part in contributing to a society that values equality among men and women and promotes sexual and reproductive health.
The report highlights that there were about 85 million unintended pregnancies globally in 2012, which represented 40% of all pregnancies.
