Artists raise their fists

their works, in­clud­ing Vusi Beauchamp, Kudzanai Chi­u­rai, Ab­doul-Gan­iou Der­mani, Gerald Ma­chona, An­gus MacKin­non, Pola Mineli, Sam­son Mnisi, Lavar Mun­roe, Artu Peatoo, Laura Wind­vo­gel (Lady Skol­lie) and many more.

A key art­work fea­tured in the ex­hi­bi­tion will be Willem Boshoff’s con­tro­ver­sial Racist in Africa (2011), which is cur­rently on show at the South African Pav­il­ion at the Venice Bi­en­nial.

This is sure to di­vide au­di­ences, and the gallery will pub­lish a scrapbook of the re­sponses and cri­tiques of the art­work.

There has never been a more im­por­tant time for artists to use their voices against in­jus­tice. Art can ig­nite.
