The same chief decried how the ANC government ignored traditional leaders when it was passing laws – laws it then struggled to enforce.

He recalled how government went against African traditions and passed a law banning the carrying of traditional weapons.

“We are still carrying them, he declared.” He didn’t end there: “The government even passed a law banning girls and women from exposing their breasts and bums [while wearing traditional wear].

“Guess what? They are still flashing, and we like it!”
