Amakhosi tears

CityPress - - Voices -

Siyahleba discovered this week that hell hath no fury like a traditional leader scorned.

This is what Rural Development and Land Reform Minister Gugile Nkwinti found out during a meeting with traditional leaders in Parliament this week.

The amakhosi had invited Nkwinti to brief them about land-related policies. What he encountered were some really angry chiefs. After Nkwinti explained some proposed laws, including one that came into effect this week, one unconvinced leader remarked: “This debate reminds me of a song: Killing Me Softly!”
