There is noth­ing as smart as dis­arm­ing your op­po­nents by speak­ing about the nasty things you think peo­ple are say­ing about you be­hind your back – as the SACP’s Mi­nora Blade did this week by deny­ing an al­le­ga­tion that had not been made. Mi­nora told the media it was not true that he was speak­ing out against the SABC be­cause his wife, Phumelele Ntombela-Nz­i­mande, had been fired from the in­sti­tu­tion.

Now that that’s out of the way, maybe Mi­nora should deny that – with most of the SACP’s lead­ers serv­ing in gov­ern­ment – the party has been “cap­tured by the state”.
