Nairobi in lock­down

The Kenyan cap­i­tal of Nairobi has been placed in lock­down for the visit of the pres­i­dent of the US or Potus, as he is known.

Ac­cord­ing to a no­tice is­sued by the lo­cal traf­fic depart­ment, ma­jor air­ports and al­most all ma­jor roads were to be closed from Satur­day and for the du­ra­tion of the visit. Some of the roads af­fected in Nairobi in­cluded:

Uhuru High­way – Bun­yala round­about to Univer­sity Way round­about through to State House Road and ad­join­ing ar­eas to West­lands

Haile Se­lassie Road – Uhuru High­way round­about to Uhuru Park en­trance

Uhuru Park – Haile Se­lassie Road to Keny­atta Av­enue

Keny­atta Av­enue – Uhuru High­way round­about to Ki­mathi Street

Haram­bee Av­enue – Uhuru High­way Junction to Lieu­tenant Tumbo Road

Haile Se­lassie Road – Uhuru High­way round­about to Rail­way Sta­tion round­about

Mom­basa Road – Nyayo Sta­dium round­about to En­ter­prise Road

Lan­gata Road – Nyayo Sta­dium round­about to Madaraka (Nairobi South C) round­about
